2014 St. Louis Earth Day Festival - Photo Report
April 27, 2014 - St. Louis Earth Day Festival is an annual celebration of Earth Day, the largest among such festivities in the St. Louis area. The organizers point out that it now ranks as the 2nd largest Earth Day event in the nation! This year marked the 25th anniversary of this celebration. Festival goers enjoy a full day of local musical acts, live performers and engage in various eco-educational activities. Learn all about the organizers, their mission and community involvement on their website stlouisearthday.org.
The Muny grounds in Forest Park hosted the festival on a day which was forecasted to have severe storms. For the most part the weather held off for a beautiful overcast spring day, any outdoor photographers delight. The snarly skies and warnings buzzing on phones eventually did cause the organizers to close the festival early by 4:30 pm. Nothing really happened!! but I guess its safer to err on the side of caution. I was left a little bummed out with the performance I was really looking forward to being cancelled but still a fun day. Till next year!!

Cosmic Chaos: The last shot |
My favorite shot from the day, surprising how quickly things wound down. All it took is one strong wind gust and people scrambled. Mother earth has provided for every moment of our life in this ever evolving comic chaos. So lay down, relax, take a deep breath and think of the pillars of nature which make possible our existence on Earth.

2014 Color Run 5K St. Louis - Photo Report
April 26, 2014 A day of contagious happiness is probably the best way describe it. I had the opportunity to witness and photograph the color run event in downtown St. Louis for the first time this past weekend. It's a 5K running event where participants run thru color stations along the course to get doused with different colors and there is a color party at the end to celebrate the accomplishment. More than a race it is a fun event for families and with over 14K participants it sure seems to be popular. I ran out of memory but the waves of happy people kept on going.
Here are some of the photos from the event, a few more can be seen in the gallery here.
